Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities to get involved as a volunteer at Opportunity Enterprises. We are always looking for exceptional people to help with clients, clerical assistance and special events. Whether you are looking for a one-time or ongoing commitment, we have a place for you. We have been working to provide each volunteer with a more meaningful experience. Therefore, when you set up a meeting with our volunteer coordinator, you will be asked to take a tour and determine the area that most interests you. We want to spend time upfront finding the right fit and getting each volunteer acclimated into our agency. Additionally, there are always opportunities for special events that would be one-time commitments. These are a lot of fun, a great way to help out and even a time for friends to get together to help a great cause. Our largest one-day event is our Pack-a-thon. Held each September, we pull together 700+ volunteers to pack the 40,000 bags for The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon. This event is great for groups and individuals alike. Adult Day Center Best Buddies is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. In this program, students are matched with persons with developmental disabilities. Best Buddies fosters friendship, encouraging buddies to meet twice a month for personal outings and maintain weekly phone or email contact.
