Simply Amazing Gourmet Treats Make Lives a Bit Sweeter

Valparaiso - Things are popping at Opportunity Enterprises as the nonprofit agency is now making flavored popcorn! Building on the success of its gourmet fudge sales, OE has expanded its retail enterprise to include a variety of goodies under the name of Simply Amazing Gourmet Treats. In addition to fresh fudge, one will now find gourmet flavors of popcorn year round in Valparaiso - Home of the Nation’s First Popcorn Festival Parade.

Opportunity Enterprises staff and clients work collaboratively to prepare and package the delicious treats for corporate gifts, holiday gifts, employee rewards and wedding favors. The Amazing treats and unique gift packages will be available for purchase beginning November 13 at Opportunity Enterprises’ Simply Amazing Market. The market is located at the north entrance of the Opportunity Enterprises main facility, 2801 Evans Avenue. It will be open to the public 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays thru Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Proceeds from the sales of Simply Amazing Gourmet Treats support the mission of Opportunity Enterprises -- each purchase makes a philanthropic difference and promotes self-sufficiency and life choices for challenged individuals. Since 1967, OE has been a non-profit organization dedicated to serving challenged individuals. Today, OE serves 1700 individuals in Porter County and throughout Northwest Indiana.

Opportunity Enterprises staff members Linda Johnston, Alora Johnson, Nicki Davis and Sabrina Smith were a few of the staff that participated in a ‘pre-opening’ shop last week at Simply Amazing Market. The market features gourmet treats produced by Opportunity Enterprises. It is located at the north entrance of Opportunity Enterprises and will open to the public on November 13.
