FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FirstLink offers information fair for high school students
Vocational Rehabilitation Services of Indiana and Opportunity Enterprises are hosting an information fair for high school students with disabilities and their parents at Chesterton High School Cafeteria, 6 - 8 p.m., on March 6, and at Portage High School East Cafeteria, 6 - 8 p.m., on March 10. This service is provided free of charge through the FirstLink program; students of all abilities and all ages are invited to attend. Whether students plan to attend college or vocational school or find work in the community, this fair will give students the resources to succeed after high school. Representatives will be present from local colleges, Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services, Social Security, Indiana WorkOne, and Vocational Rehabilitation. The FirstLink program is made possible through a grant initiative with Opportunity Enterprises, Inc. from Vocational Rehabilitation Services of Indiana. Vocational Rehabilitation Services, an agency of the State of Indiana, provides assistance to individuals with disabilities through vocational counseling and guidance, rehabilitative technology services, job training and coaching, and many other services. |
