Planning
for the Future
Therapeutic gardens, fishing lessons and boating
excursions, a day camp for school-age children
with and without disabilities—these are just a
few of the ideas for new programming at Opportunity
Enterprises’ newest location, Lakeside. Located
along the shores of Lake Eliza, Lakeside promises
to house Opportunity Enterprises’ most innovative
programming yet. The property includes a 13,000
square foot facility and 98 acres of lake frontage,
rolling hills, and natural meadowland.
Slated
to open in summer of 2008, Lakeside will
become the new home to the Renewed Horizons
Adult Day Center for older clientele and Enriching
Possibilities, previously known as the Prevocational
program, for individuals with moderate disabilities.
A full compliment of enrichment programs and
transportation will be provided.

“Lakeside
adds more capacity for our day programs, not
only for those programs moving out to the new
property, but also to those at our main facility,”
explains Jenn Fanner, Enrichment Services Director.
“And at Lakeside, opportunities exist for gardening,
fishing, walking and exercise, bird watching,
and outdoor recreation; the possibilities are
endless, and we can’t wait.”

“We are
so excited about the move,” agrees Rebecca
Cheky, Manager of Renewed Horizons, one of
the programs relocating toLakeside. “This
move will allow for more creativity in daily
curriculum and more opportunities for smaller
group activities, tailored to each individual’s
abilities and interests. Lakeside will only
enhance what we already do: striving to provide
each person we serve with the most meaningful
day possible.”
